Artist Statement

As a Russian Orthodox Christian and a painter, I see and experience the world as the Creation of God. My painting is always figurative because the outer most layer of things, which distinguishes one thing from another, is the most profound and is the manifestation of their essence. The subjects in my paintings also have a certain corporeal reality to them. This physicality is the material in which the Divine is shown through. The world is portrayed as a bearer of Light through color and paint. I try to paint it with thankfulness to praise this Beauty.
